In addition, we operate a fully licensed End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) depollution centre, where cars and other vehicles are safely dismantled, hazardous fluids are removed, and recyclable components are recovered in line with strict environmental standards.

Scrapping Your Vehicle
We make scrapping your vehicle simple, safe, and fully compliant. As Edinburgh’s DVLA Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), we handle the entire process — including safe vehicle depollution and recycling — and issue a free Certificate of Destruction for your peace of mind.
All you need is your V5C logbook and a valid driving licence for identification and your bank card. We’ll arrange fast, secure payment direct to your bank account.
Collection Service
We offer a flexible metal collection service for all types and quantities of scrap. Skip containers can be supplied for regular collections, and with the strength of our cranes and transport fleet, no item is too big or too heavy for us to handle.
Cable Granulation
At Bernard Hunter, we can process all types of cable, from drop wire to co-axial. On arrival, Cables are weighed and sampled by our team to determine precise metallic content, ensuring you receive accurate and fair payment.
The material is then graded, sorted, and prepared for the granulation process, guaranteeing secure destruction and efficient recycling.
Licences & Authorisations
Compliance is at the core of our operations. We are fully licensed by the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), registered with the local authority as a Metal Dealer, and operate as a DVLA Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), providing official Certificates of Destruction for end-of-life vehicles.
