Safety at the core of everything we do
At Bernard Hunter, safety isn’t just a policy—it’s a culture. With over 80 years of operational experience in some of the most complex and demanding environments, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety in every aspect of our work.
Practical Safety on Every Site
From city centre lifts to remote infrastructure projects, our team is trained to recognise and mitigate risk at every stage. Before any crane sets up on site, we carry out detailed assessments and develop risk evaluations and lifting plans tailored to the specific location and task.
We work closely with site managers and contractors to ensure seamless coordination, and we never begin a lift unless all safety controls are fully in place.
Certified and Competent Personnel
All of our operators, slinger/signallers, and supervisors are trained and certified through CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) or NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme). Ongoing training, including manufacturer-led familiarisation, ensures our team remains fully up to date with the latest crane technology and safety standards.
With over 80 years of operational experience in some of the most complex and demanding environments, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety in every aspect of our work.
A Zero-Compromise Approach
Whether operating under CPA Standard Hire or a fully managed CPA Contract Lift, our responsibility to safety is the same: zero compromise, zero shortcuts. Our in-house Appointed Persons and Lift Supervisors ensure that every lift is meticulously planned, documented, and executed in full compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Safety is not negotiable. It’s what protects our people, our clients, and the public—and it’s why we’re trusted by leading contractors across Scotland.
